neurobasser – 30 years of c-base / 3 years of c-bass

Just like c-base, zion, the space colony from the groundbreaking cyberpunk novel neuromancer is hitting the big 3-0 :

These signs are impossible to ignore – call it synchronicity, side-effects of time travel, or something else entirely – in the upcoming c-bass we do it c_lebration style and c_lebrate 30 years of c-base musically.

The intergalactic redneck soundsystem Hillbilly Hifi will string up their stack of speakers for the evening.

They will be joined on board by the musical veterans Roots Descendents Sound (Roots Order Records) ls. Ical Ises (Dandelion SoundSystem/New Flower Records)

With a fresh breeze and her first-ever public sound system appearance, Aisha is set to deliver a carefully curated selection of deep 70s and 80s roots.

Ligi will be the event-pate for the night and also play some tunes.

Furthermore, you’ll find a copy of Neuromancer, complete with contextually highlighted sections for your reading pleasure.

You can also play the original Neuromancer video game (1988). In addition, we’ll be exhibiting original artworks created in the context of c-bass on the walls of c-base.

In the tradition of birthday celebrations on Earth where we currently reside, we will look back over the last years of c-bass:

The first c-bass happened in 2023

It was a special night when Hillbilly Hifi stringed up the sound on board for the first time. David started by introducing it with a talk about how this system came to life and explaining details about it. Then there was extended tests with the system – resonance was strong.

As a special guest we had Roots Rocket.

The second c-bass was in a intergalactic hackathon style on the 2.3.2024

Kai did best hack visualizing the music with ShaderAmp.

Dub veteran Tom Bauminista provided a fitting soundtrack with dub from outer space and far beyond.

The 3rd and most recent one was in the beginning of this year (2025) in a conference style. Tom Bauminista came back and this time did debut his own sound system, Dub Conference Hifi, for the first time in public.

Kai did visuals with ShaderAmp again.
